Hey Everyone,
I figured just posting something on the blog was the easiest way to explain the lack of entries. Now that the floods have cleared, I've been using my BritRail Pass like crazy, going to Scotland, London, and Wales so I can try and get my money's worth out of it.
Secondly, I am in the process of writing my weekly reading responses for my literature class as well as working on a 7 page paper about the use of resorts in 18th century literature. As soon as these things are done, or at least rough drafted, I should be able to post more.
So between the traveling, writing for class, actual class, and talking to people when I get back to Oxford (blame my parents and James for this) there isn't a whole lot of energy and time to write in here after writing class assignments.
Ok, that's it for now. Tomorrow I go into London and Yorkshire on Sunday, so it's going to be such a busy weekend!

Proper way to taste champagne
1) Look at it, holding it on the stem so as not to warm the glass
2) Take a waft, or smell
3) Take a sip, let it lightly dance on your tongue
4) Smell it again, and you’ll be able to smell more suble fruit smells now
Cynics can skip the dancing on the tongue detail, but I think it’s the best part.

Fast facts in the name of champagne taste
- Saying “French champagne” is redundant, since true champagne only comes from this region of France
- Vintages are only made during years when the crop is exceptional, and unlike non-vintages, they do not combine wine from previous years
- “Finish” refers to the aromatic remnants on the palate following consumption
- Champagne undergoes its second fermentation with a cap, not a cork, because it interferes with the flavor
- At Moët et Chandon, the last vintage was 2000, and will sit another year before being sold
- Chardonnay was imported into France during the crusades, along with a type of rose
- Moët et Chandon has enough champagne bottles in their cellar at this moment to give one to every person in France. This would be a huge ass party.
- There are specific sizes of bottles (just to name a few): Magnums = 1.5 liters, Mathusalem = 6 liters, or 8 bottles, Nabuchodonsor = 15 liters, or 20 bottles; only made to order and cannot be fermented in a bottle this big, it’s combo of many bottles during packaging

Well, a short entry is better than no entry at all. Glad you're having a good time and getting to travel more now that the floods have receded. Can't wait to see you and hear even more about the photos you've posted.
I talked to Aunt Mary Jane tonight. She loves your blog. I told her why you haven't had time to update it this week. She was so thrilled to see the photos of Ljubljana. She just went on and on about it. Can you imagine? That's where her Mother was born. And she died when MJ was only 8 yrs old. So that meant a lot to her to see the pictures of that city, something her mother never had a chance to describe to her.
Well, I hadn't thought of that! That is really neat that it was a connection to her own mom, who died way too young, and while MJ was too young. The city and Slovenia looks so beautiful! Makes me proud of my paternal heritage.
